Support HB1096/SB1001 To End Harmful, Unconstitutional Seizure of Personal Property

Yet again, a law that was sold as a way to fight drug crime has been used to remove the Constitutional rights of American citizens.  The seizing of assets prior to due process has hurt many.  Please watch this video of Michael Sanchez-Ratliff for just one sad example of how our liberties have been handed over to the government, to our own detriment.

There is something  you can do to prevent this from happening again in Tennessee.

Civil Forfeiture Bill:  HB1096/SB1001 will be heard in the Civil Justice Committee on Tuesday April 7, 2015.

As introduced, the bill will abolish civil forfeiture and will Amend TCA Title 4; Title 8; Title 12; Title 39; Title 40; Title 47; Title 53; Title 55; Title 57; Title 59; Title 67 and Title 70.

Please email  or call the members of the Civil Justice Committee.  It is suggested that you copy/paste their email addresses as “bcc” (blind copy) so they can’t see that you are emailing them all at once.
